Checkout this brand new coffee café in Dublin, it’s basically a 40ft converted shipping container which has so far attracted a flood of 5 star reviews!
Container Coffee Dublin is a tiny cafe located on Thomas Street in Dublin. It was founded by television producer, foodie and travel journalist Gordon Hickey. He chose an area in Dublin due to its lack of decent coffee shops and so far its been a big success.
The café is the brainchild of entrepreneur Gordon Hickey who prides itself on caring for the environment. Only Eco-friendly products, including the coffee cups, will be on sale at Container Coffee. The café is raised up off the ground to make it appear like a permanent part of the street. Access is via a concrete ramp with railings. Small trees and shrubs also decorate the exterior to add a touch of nature.
Container Coffee measures over 88 square feet. It has a small outside patio area with additional seating for customers. It was constructed out of a 40ft recycled shipping container. The bright blue colour paint used on the exterior makes the coffee shop stand out in the otherwise grey, dull streets. Contrasting white lettering and branding also draw attention to the name.
Says Gordon Hickey, founder of Container Coffee :
“I am hoping that Container Coffee will become a regular spot for local workers to get their daily caffeine fix and for the many tourists in the area to stop, refuel and gather some information on the area,”
Says a spokesperson at The Digital Hub :
“The team at The Digital Hub recognise ‘entrepreneurial spirit’ straight away, and Gordon has that. Given our commitment to the urban regeneration of the Liberties area, it was a no-brainer to help an entrepreneur open a new retail business that will be a great addition to the streetscape and the community,” Fiach Mac Conghail, ceo of the Digital Hub said.
