This innovative mobile retail complex was constructed over three levels using 24 recycled 40-foot long shipping containers. The end result is PUMA City, a truly transportable experiential building. Totalling an incredible 11,000 square feet of space, this triple decker container stack was erected at a number of seaside locations.
The containers were offset to create spacious internal areas. Cantilevered overhangs and terraces produce an inspiring visual appearance by day and night. The complex consists of two full retail spaces on the lower levels. These were both designed with large double-height ceilings and open spaces the width of four containers.
Located on the second level are offices, a press area and ample storage. On the top level a bar and event space with a large open terrace provide a relaxed space for visitors to unwind. The structure is secured horizontally and vertically with container connectors.
Each of the main modules are designed to be shipped as conventional cargo containers. This is achieved with a system of structural panels that fully seal all of the main openings. These are then removed on site to re-connect the large internal open spaces. Its the first experiential container building of its scale to be fully mobile.
