Newcastle’s brand new shopping container village announces a host of independent traders
The former site of the old Odeon Cinema in Newcastle’s city centre will soon be home to Stack. Its a network of 60 shipping containers playing host to more than 40 independent traders, including bars, restaurants, delis and retail units.
‘Stack’ is a contemporary creative social hub for entertainment, culture, shopping and working. Built entirely from recycled shipping containers it is a destination concept in the heart of Newcastle city centre.
There is a trio of emerging food and drink businesses that have signed up to become part of this new and exciting shipping container shopping and leisure destination in Newcastle.
The shipping container retail centre will be built upon a location famous for entertainment dating back to 1931 as the paramount theatre and later the Odeon Cinema. It will create low cost, low energy leisure, hospitality, workshops, offices & retail outlets.
Just imagine the best elements of London’s Southbank meeting BoxPark Shoreditch meets New York’s Highline with a hint of modern Covent Garden and a good dose of Tynemouth’s Food Festival, then you’ll have Stack.
